SOS Sahel International is an international NGO whose mission is to improve the lives of people in the heart of Africa. Thanks to its expertise and network projects it carries out social, economic and environmental projects, such as sustainable agriculture, access to water and sanitation, health, education and the fight against desertification. Created 40 years ago, SOS Sahel International is recognized as a member of the Charter's Committee.

Clean Cooking Activities
Development of carbon project by dissemination of cookstoves in West Africa.
Since 2009 SOS SAHEL International has been fighting against deforestation by developing carbon projects which disseminate over 100 thousand cookstoves per year for a period of 10 years. This project reduces emissions of GHG, improves the quality of indoor air, and reduces the impact of deforestation on nature.We promote clean cookstoves developed by national Energy institute.
In 2011, SOS SAHEL International develop with rural population of Louga and Thiès in Senegal, a cookstove project which consist to self-build cookstoves with local materials.
We hope to develop more carbon projects in the middle areas of Africa.
Partnership
We are interested in exchange partnership, share experience in clean developpement mechanism, developpement of efficicient cookstoves, neutral technologies.
