Clean Cooking Activities

Through The Hunger Project's integrated, women-centric, community-led approach to rural development, a number of our communities have identified the need for and utilize cookstoves to reduce the burden of drudgery of women, improve the efficiency of cooking, and enhance the health and environmental impacts compared with traditional methods of collecting firewood. The Hunger Project is interested in scaling efforts, learning best practices from partners, and identifying opportunities to connect market development opportunities in our communities, where applicable, by strengthening its current in-country strategies by accessing the Global Alliance's best practices and available resources, and engaging staff expertise in enterprise development to assess potential in communities.

Partnership

The Hunger Project seeks to participate in the Global Alliance by sharing our learnings about the importance of community-led implementation of cookstove projects in rural communities. Specifically from our work in Mexico, we have powerful stories showing the importance of the adoption and ownership of the process in enhancing sustainability of adoption in comparison to service-delivery approaches.
