Mission
The mission of the organization is to bring about improved livelihood amongst the poor and the vulnerable in the society. The organization is set to operate in three areas namely environment, education and health. Dwelling on environmental area, it is our role to contribute to sustainable biodiversity by restoring trees, encouraging good practice of agriculture, land and forestry management and encouraging effective means of sustaining livelihood by promoting the use of collectives in Malawi. Northern part in particular.

Clean Cooking Activities
This project will involve
restoring and protecting trees by empowering women to use modern cook stoves,
enhanced community awareness campaign in restoring and planting trees and build and
empower women’s capacity in eco-tourism, production and selling of molded cook
stoves, beekeeping and honey production. These will help in reducing distance for
women in searching for firewood at the same time making them empowered
economically thereby contributing to environmental conservation.
At national level, awareness campaigns will be held by using the media through adverts
and comedies. The project will promote and disseminate the information pertaining to
the importance of using molded cook stoves as a best practice to promote and
conserve environmental challenges. On the other hand, stressing the role of this kind of
technology will tackled the aspect of how it is capable of protecting the rights of
women. For instance in this consideration, radio programs will be introduced in local
radio stations as a means of reaching out the majority at large.
It is against this problems that TSBO seeks to implement a project titled; Promoting
Sustainable Environmental Conservation in Rural Communities through Women
Economic Empowerment. The goal of the project is to contribute towards sustainable
environmental management by 2019.
Partnership
The catchment area of the
organization is Kanthete area in T/A Kabunduli, GVH Gowamu in Nkhata Bay district.
One of the objectives of the TSBO is to promote sustainable environmental
management in rural communities. The project impact area has an approximate total
population of over to 6,800 people with more than 13 villages.
In order to implement effectively on this HCCF project, we will need a mutual support in various areas. For example, financial assistance is a basic requirement, technical expertise (e.g. By attending some conferences,trainings or meetings on the subject matter, innovations etc)
Further, the partnership can also work in terms of sharing ideas in starting new environmental oriented project in order to reach the majority at large.
