Clean Cooking Activities
Toru is working as a capacity building partner in the clean cookstoves industry. Toru is playing a critical role in Bangladesh by supporting knowledge transfer and market positioning services to help clean cookstove entrepreneurs produce and implement marketing and overall business strategies to help understand consumer preference and willingness to pay by using locally manufactured ICS.
Partnership
Toru is the first social innovation hub in Bangladesh that works with early stage innovators and social entrepreneurs to build their capacity to scale up. Though our network we thrive to provide turnkey solutions to aspiring entrepreneurs through research, human centered design, business mentorship and access to funds. Toru is connected with global development families and is constantly inspired by dedicated organizations working in the field. Among them, Villgro, India is the key partner of Toru. Global Social Benefit Institute (GSBI) plays a mentorship role in Toru to align and share best practices that can be learned through a north-south or south - south partnership.
Our service areas include –
Incubation
Toru scouts and incubates early stage innovations and social entrepreneurs. We begin with product development through the introduction of human centered design and gradual merge strategy, marketing and sales, and finance operations to the incubatee.
Advisory Services
Toru provides specific and need-based capacity building services to its clients - in both private and development sectors in design and entrepreneurial abilities. We work with global academic and organizations to implement knowledge transfer workshops targeting local talents.
