Clean Cooking Activities
DOE supports a range of research and development organizations to conduct applied research and develop transformational low emission, high efficiency cookstoves that are affordable and user-desirable. The R&D is integrated with laboratory and field testing. DOE also supports the development of tools to accelerate the dissemination of low-emission, high-efficiency cookstoves technologies that use solid biomass fuels. DOE is also supporting small business through its Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program to develop lower-cost, user-friendly, and long-lasting data logging instruments with wireless capability in order to improve verification of stove performance in the field.
The DOE is a national partner of the Alliance.
