WIRES' mission is to enable Somali women to create sustainable clean energy. Our product services help use green energy efficiently to create employment opportunities for Somali women. WIRE seeks to inspire Somali women,and to educate and assist them in creating sustainable job opportunities through energy independence and environmental stewardship.

Clean Cooking Activities

WIRES has the biggest production facility for fuel efficient cookstoves in Somalia. Our efficient cookstoves reduce the amount of charcoal and wood used and protect women from toxic chemicals produced by open fires and traditional stoves. This project is part of a three-year programme called Somalia Energy Transformation (SET) where WIRES' partners with female entrepreneurs to produce and market fuel efficient stoves. The project is funded by the EU.

Partnership

The end goal of the program is to ensure girls and youth spend little or no time looking for firewood and charcoal as energy sources. We work to ensure that they have more time allocated to studying and for that reason we are seeking investment and support from donors and investors who share our mission.
