Clean Cooking Activities

Currently, we are promoting 3 different stove models in Burundi of which at least 300 women benefit. Encouraging them to use clean cookstoves contributes towards the reduction of the emission of carbon dioxide and widespread of deforestation. We have been able to do so under the shape of training workshops and rotary credits in favor of women in order to empower them to play an important role in the cookstoves and fuel value chains, as they excel in entrepreneurial activities and leverage their existing cooperatives for distribution, marketing, and sales through the distribution of burning clean stoves and gas fuels.

Partnership

We would like to partner with Global Alliance to share and learn replicable best practices, strategies and experiences about the clean cookstoves to empower us to better serve our specific target group including schooling and out-of-school youth and young women at high-risk and in critical need of interventions that assist them in recovery and filling social, behavioral, educational, and other developmental gaps resulting from extended periods of civil unrest in their respective communities. The intent is that, as more youth and women take part, more become economically self reliant, civically active, and socially responsible-critical traits needed in building a better future in every community. The more partnerships we build the better we create an enabling environment where those young girls and boys are prepared for future life as productive, contributing citizens, well-equipped to create a job or to take a job and become agents for social change.
