BURN: Deputy CEO

About the role:
BURN is looking for a Deputy CEO, the second in command, reporting to the chief executive officer (CEO), who will serve as the key executive leader, playing a crucial role in implementing the company’s strategies, overseeing daily operations, and driving initiatives for sustainable growth.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to navigate the complexities of our industry, foster innovation, and ensure the continued success of BURN.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy that aligns with BURN’s goals and objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, policymakers, and regulatory agencies. Act as the primary liaison between BURN and government entities.
  • Advocate for policies and regulations that support BURN’s business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the company.
  • Represent BURN at governmental meetings, hearings, and industry conferences.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. Identify and mitigate potential risks related to government policies and regulations.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including legal, communications, and business development, to align government relations strategies with overall company objectives.
  • Provide regular updates to the senior management team on government relations activities, policy developments, and emerging trends.
  • Lead advocacy efforts on key issues, including coordinating grassroots campaigns and coalition-building activities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, Strategic management, Economics, or a related field (an MBA is advantageous)
  • Demonstrate a track record of 5+ years in an executive business management role (C-suite), showcasing a history of successfully steering organizations through periods of growth, innovation, and sustained excellence.
  • Exhibit excellent leadership skills, characterized by a steadfast resolve to overcome challenges, inspire teams, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  • Possess a deep understanding of advanced business planning, strategic development, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
  • Showcase a history of successfully formulating and executing business strategies that align with organizational goals while adhering to regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, showcasing the ability to secure financial resources strategically and build lasting relationships with investors and stakeholders.
  • International business experience, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of global markets, cultural nuances, and the ability to navigate diverse business landscapes.
