Research Associate, Development Finance – Modern Energy Cooking Services Programme

Salary: £33,348 to £43,155 per annum. Subject to annual pay award.

The Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) Programme is seeking an experienced researcher to join their team. MECS is a 39.8 million programme funded by UK Aid through the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office, led by Loughborough University. The Research Associate will support the delivery of the MECS programme, which has a very strong focus on research uptake. The researcher will be expected to travel to countries to engage at high levels with public and private sector stakeholders.
The successful applicant will have experience of the financing of energy access initiatives and/or development finance more generally, in particular results-based financing mechanisms and working with multilateral funders on large programmes. The experience will not necessarily be within the energy sector as the core skills and expertise are transferable across different sectors.
