CCA Webinar: fNRB Updates and Next Steps
The Clean Cooking Alliance (CCA) is pleased to invite you to the upcoming webinar on updated fraction of non-renewable biomass (fNRB) values, taking place on Wednesday, November 1, from 10-11am Eastern Time.
Event Details:
The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat recently commissioned research to establish updated fraction of non-renewable biomass (fNRB) values and has now released the first batch of results, which include national and subnational values for sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). This research was conducted by leading scientists at the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and provides an opportunity for more accurate accounting of the climate impacts of clean cooking projects, and for harmonization across the clean cooking carbon market.
During this webinar, Rob Bailis (SEI) and Adrian Ghilardi (UNAM) will provide an overview of the research behind these updated fNRB values, discuss the results and their implications, and share next steps, including how to participate in UNFCCC’s public commenting period ending November 3, 2023.
Additional Information:
This webinar is tailored to project developers. Additional opportunities to engage with CCA and other stakeholders on this topic will be available in the future. We encourage you to send in advance any questions you would like to see addressed during the webinar. Please send your questions to climate@cleancooking.org by no later than Monday, October 30.
