Indonesia Clean Stove Initiative
The Indonesia Clean Stove Initiative (CSI) is a four-phase program designed to increase household access to cleaner and more efficient cookstoves. It is a collaborative effort between the Indonesian government and the World Bank. It aims to scale up access to clean and efficient cooking in Indonesia, focusing on the population still relying on traditional biomass for cooking. To support the CSI, a pilot program is being launched with the following objectives: to pilot the Results Based Financing (RBF) approach and to generate lessons learned for the future national scale-up that aims to achieve universal access to clean cooking in Indonesia.
Yayasan Dian Desa (https://www.diandesa.org/activities/renewable-energy/) is working in partnership with CSI, and their primary assignment is managing the Pilot Program Clean Cookstove Testing Center. Part of the CSI also involves a campaign to raise awareness and stimulate demand for clean cooking technology. Advisory services related to stove designs, technology and marketing will also be available to assist stove producers and designers.
