A number of current challenges are particularly important to overcome in order to unlock opportunities for system growth.
During the initial phase of work, stakeholders identified numerous bright spots and challenges facing the current ecosystem today (access a full set of insights from our research). From this, seven challenges were highlighted due to their scale and systemic implications.
The original version of these seven challenges have been shared below, each detailing the systemic causes and implications of the challenge, as well as forward-looking questions for readers to explore. In October 2020, we shared these challenges with the broader ecosystem and solicited feedback from stakeholders. These systemic challenges and the feedback we received shaped how we identified and prioritized systems transformations in the second phase of work.
