2021 Industry Snapshot Report
Around the world, an estimated 2.8 billion people continue to lack access to clean cooking solutions. While almost 100 million people gained access to clean cooking between 2015 and 2018, achieving universal access to clean cooking solutions by 2030 will require a major acceleration in the pace of change. However, even the gradual gains achieved thus far by companies and other stakeholders in the sector are under threat of reversal due to the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.
This second edition of the Clean Cooking Industry Snapshot provides an analysis of the investment and operational performance of approximately 50 clean cooking companies between 2017 and 2019, based on self-reported and publicly available data.
