Activating Other Sectors to Participate

Stimulating activity from adjacent sectors to facilitate capital flows into clean cooking. 

Establish and grow financial facilities

Facilitating capital into clean cooking by working with new and existing sources of finance. 

CCA is involved with the following initiatives:  

  • Domestic Financial Market and Carbon Finance Receivables Facility: Establishing, in partnership with the African Guarantee Fund and the UN Capital Development Fund, a global fund to unlock finance from domestic financial institutions in developing countries by leveraging carbon contracts. The programme will be tested in at least two countries before scale-up, potentially in 2024.   
  • Spark+ Africa Fund: Support the fund through a second tranche of grant funding for early and growth stage enterprises. 

 

Deliver technical assistance

Designing and delivering technical assistance to outcome buyers and outcome sellers. 

CCA is the custodian of the following technical assistance programs: 

  • Clean Cooking Venture Accelerator: Working to prepare early-stage clean cooking enterprises interested in accessing carbon markets or traditional investments. 
  • Technical assistance to national banks: Establishing cohorts of local banks to co-create appropriate Guarantee Structures for carbon receivables.
