Greg Murray is CEO & Co-Founder of KOKO Networks, the technology platform protecting tropical forests. With 1,500 staff across East Africa and India, KOKO owns and operates renewable fuel utilities supplying mass-market households with ultra-clean fuel and replacing demand for charcoal cooking fuel, the primary driver of deforestation in Africa.

KOKO’s core solution integrates a range of patented hardware and software to support a consumer-facing operational footprint that resembles a mobile telecoms operator in scale and sophistication. KOKO was recognised as the world’s leading emerging markets climate technology solution in the FT/IFC Transformational Business Awards 2021, and is backed by a range of climate technology investors including the Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund.

Prior to KOKO, Greg’s experience includes venture development in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Latin America in the energy, climate and technology sectors. After a decade living and building in East Africa, Greg now leads KOKO’s London HQ.
